Getting to Know Darren Radford
I’m Darren Radford – a 32-year-old UK-based tech blogger and business enthusiast. Though I somewhat accidentally fell into blogging about technology, I’ve built up keen insight into the tech and business landscape over the past few years. I aim to touch upon key developments in these areas on my popular blog, whilst provoking readers to ponder deeper questions on wider societal impact.
My Path to Blogging
I didn’t set out to become a blogger originally. I studied business and dabbled in some freelance marketing work after university. But when my mates kept asking for technology purchase recommendations, I started informally sharing my take. Their positive feedback gave me the push to start blogging part-time while working. When writing technology analysis proved more fulfilling, I made the leap into blogging full-time – and I haven’t looked back since.

Life Outside Blogging
While writing occupies much of my time these days, I still make space for other passions. I find editing the photos to be a nice creative contrast to writing. I also enjoy playing the piano. I find that it helps me to relax and take a break from writing. It’s also a great way to express my emotions in a creative way. Additionally, I enjoy cooking. I find it to be a great way to unwind and experiment with different flavors.
And while I spend ample time online for my blog, I make sure to log off and experience the real world with long, contemplative vacations. For vacations, I enjoy quiet countryside rambles to spark introspection and clarity of thought. “Solvitur ambulando” (it is solved by walking), I often remind myself whenever facing writer’s block.
