As far as Mondays go, this Monday was a keeper. I woke up a bit later than I should have, but stayed in bed thinking. It was also a beautiful day. The decision was made to delay working for a bit and go for a walk. At the end of the walk is a lovely castle with a restaurant and tables outside, where you can bask in the sun and enjoy a coffee.
Then, back at home ... "hey, there's mail for you." MAIL? For me? I never get mail. I had nearly forgotten about the postcard, the highly anticipated postcard from blogger postcards around the world. I love getting mail and this had the added bonus of being a self-made post card from a sweet person who told me that she likes my blog. She used descriptive words like "lovely" and "clear". Did I feel the love? Did I feel appreciated? Yes! So often as a blogger you wonder if people are actually reading you, but you don't realize that the way you lurk on other blogs is the way that people lurk on yours.
The card itself was a picture of her gingerbread hearts with chocolate ganache, laid out beautifully with a valentine's motif. And look at these cool Aussie stamps!

Now to introduce my secret penpal: she is the talented i-ling of Feed Me! I'm Hungry! Her blog is filled with goodies and luscious photos, and is now on my daily reading list. She's from Australia. It seems most bloggers I've met from Australia are the sweetest people. I had better make my way down under soon, I think I've been missing out.
Thank you i-ling. You made my day. You made my week. A sunny day, kind words from a reader, and MAIL. I couldn't think of a better way to start the week.
