Biltong's usually an acquired taste -- luckily your taste buds are fast learners! AK

Hey Mia!
Wow - what a great write-up! Thrilled that the parcel arrived, despite my best attempts to adress it incorrectly... ;-) And I'm so glad I subconsciously chose stuff you ended up loving! I know biltong isn't to everybody's taste, but I always feel it's such a typical South African snack that it's something suitably different to give as a gift. I just got back from my USA trip last night and now feel suitably qualified to do a comparative analysis of blitong, beef jerky and carne seca (and I have to say that for me, jerky rates the lowest...) Glad to hear you liked it - ask nicely and there could be a constant supply chain from London to Munich!! You will just have to send sausages in return ;-) If we visit Munich again (probably later next year) I will bring a big bag! Also glad you loved everything else - the guava fruit roll is always a hit. I love peach or apricot fruit rolls the best. And if you like Tabasco you will like the peri-peri sauce. In fact, if I'd known you like hot stuff, I would have sent you the hotter one! And I PROMISE to send the muffin recipe. I agree that the taste and texture were FAB, even though they didn't look like huge puffy muffins. WIll definitely be repeating those!
