Avalanche

This is more of an informational post than a food post, but it is a post nonetheless. You have to start somewhere.

I would describe the past month like this -- imagine riding an avalanche down one of the Alps, a huge sliding mass of snow, stone, and trees, with no opportunity to pause and recap what you've seen. Granted it's been a bit more controlled (and less dangerous) than riding an avalanche ... but now I've emerged at the bottom and have to make sense of the chaos around me. Home, work, obligations ... all is lying in massive piles as I begin to pick through the rubble (and suitcases I have yet to unpack).

So there it is. I am back, and hopefully life will quiet down and settle, like the autumn that has begun around me. I came back from the 85 degree weather in NY to cool, placid skies and a deep red beginning in the grape vines tangled around the windows of my apartment. Oh, and a funky little golden package, shaped like a mailbox, from Jeanne of the infamous Cook Sister. Lucky me!I'll be writing about that shortly, and posting a few pics from my travels in the U.S.

Stay tuned, and I really mean that. :)
