CHAPTER 2
Exercise 1
"Make a list of all the sounds you're hearing in the next three minutes. That's easy, isn't it? You can write down your sounds in any way that feels comfortable to you. Simply set your timer for three minutes, and jot down as many sounds as you can hear."
Time is set for: 3 minutes
The hum of the speakers when they're not playing music. The high tin sound of the muted TV. Cars in red-shift/blue-shift along the highway, screaming rubber of 18-wheelers flying on toward the Netherlands, or Poland. The echo of Chris' voice, now, after he has gone to bed. Scratch scratch of my PaperMate Flexigrip on the page. My knee rubbing the edge of the book. Electric hum. Cars. Creak of the bed from the other room.
